The oncology nurse navigators at Johnston-Willis Hospital are members of your multi-disciplinary care team and serve as advocates and educators for you from diagnosis through survivorship. They’ll answer your questions, help you understand care options, and serve as a resource in many other ways. With a nurse navigator, you and your family will get the personal service you need and deserve.

Meet Your Oncology Nurse Navigator
Denise has experience as an HCA breast cancer nurse navigator and most recently, served as an RN clinical coordinator/manager at Chippenham & Johnston-Willis Hospitals’ infusion center. Prior to joining HCA, she was a medical case reviewer. Denise provides education and guidance through the cancer care process including surgical referrals, treatment plans, resources and education.
Barbara started out working on the inpatient oncology and hospice unit and in outpatient surgery before moving into her role as breast cancer nurse navigator. Caring for breast patients is her passion. Barbara provides education and guidance through the breast care continuum, from abnormal screening to surgical referral, utilizing the entire breast cancer team to take care of all your needs.
Heather is a board-certified nurse practitioner with an extensive background in oncology nursing, including experience in medical oncology, pain management/palliative care, cancer genetics, women’s cancers, and GI oncology (especially complex GI cancers). Heather especially values the opportunity to support cancer patients across the continuum.
As your nurse navigator, Heather serves as your point person throughout your entire cancer journey. Heather will work closely with your health care team to ensure that everyone is up to speed and on the same page regarding your care. Heather is committed to providing you and your family with valuable information and education in a manner that is easy to understand, with the goal that you have a complete understanding of your diagnosis, your treatment options and plan, and recommendations fosr follow-up care.
Jessica started out working on the inpatient oncology unit before moving to specialize as the thoracic nurse navigator. Lung cancer has touched her personal life multiple times making this a passion for her. Jessica works closely with all members of the thoracic oncology team to make sure your providers are all in agreement of your care. She provides education in a manner that you and your entire family can understand with the goal that you have complete understanding of your diagnosis, treatment options and cancer journey. Jessica serves as your contact person throughout your entire cancer journey.
