Advanced gynecologic surgery

If your condition requires gynecologic surgery, you can be confident you will receive excellent surgical care at Johnston-Willis. Our surgeons are renowned for treating a variety of gynecological issues using the most advanced, minimally invasive surgical techniques, including robotic surgery.

Many gynecologic procedures, such as a hysterectomy (uterus removal), may be performed using robot-assisted surgery. Gynecologic robotic surgery offers women numerous benefits compared to traditional surgery.

In a traditional hysterectomy, your surgeon may need to make an incision at least six inches in length. However, a robotic hysterectomy only requires a few incisions, usually a couple centimeters in length. These smaller incisions cause less blood loss, scarring and trauma to the body, resulting in a shorter hospital stay and faster recovery.

Gynecologic cancer care

If your doctor finds an abnormality during a routine exam, we have the resources you need for further diagnostics and, if needed, treatment.

A cancer diagnosis can be overwhelming and frightening, but we are here for you every step of the way. The gynecologic oncologists at Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute at Johnston-Willis Hospital will provide you with comprehensive care for all types of gynecologic cancer, including cervical cancer, ovarian cancer and uterine/endometrial cancer.
